Project config (already in this repo)

This repository includes .cursor/mcp.json with the Admin and platform MCP servers preconfigured. Open the project in Cursor and complete OAuth when prompted for mintlify (Admin MCP).

Manual setup in Cursor

Open MCP settings

Press Cmd+Shift+P (Ctrl+Shift+P on Windows) → Open MCP settingsAdd custom MCP.

Add servers

Merge the entries from .cursor/mcp.json in this project, or paste:

Authenticate Admin MCP

Reload Cursor and sign in when mintlify (Admin MCP) requests OAuth. This scopes write access to your Mintlify project.

Install the Mintlify skill

From the repo root:
This installs Mintlify writing guidance for Cursor (components, docs.json, tone).

Test

Ask Cursor: “What MCP tools do you have?” — you should see Mintlify servers listed.

  • “Add a new Mintlify page under Storage explaining the 7-year retention policy.”
  • “Update docs.json to add a Troubleshooting group with a page for printer issues.”
  • “Search our published docs MCP for how archive box PDFs work and summarize for staff.”
